FOLK COLLECTOR
Folk Collector is an open-world RPG in development by Theo Passingham, an audio-visual artist, folk musician and game designer working across sound, immersive media and performance.
The game explores traditional folk song and melody through a vast interactive world, asking how folk traditions are collected, remembered and reimagined. Rather than treating folk music as something fixed in an archive, Folk Collector imagines it as something living, playable and evolving.
Music is at the heart of the game. Traditional songs, melodies and stories will shape the world, characters and ways that players interact with it.
CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
Folk Collector is being developed through a series of playable prototypes funded by an Arts Council England grant and A-N grant.
Each prototype tests different aspects of the future game's mechanics, music, visual language and world. Folk Collector is currently in early development. Feedback, ideas and conversations are welcome.
