Immersive Audio

During my Innovation in Sound MA at dBs institute, I became fascinated with immersive audio and its use in live performance. During the course I met Natalia Mamcarczyk, an ambisonics expert. Her attention to detail and obsession with recording audio in a way that is curious, exciting, immersive, accurate... all makes her a perfect collaborator for this project.

While live performance is where my expertise lies, this project needs experience in recording immersive audio.

The folk session is a place usually heard best by those within it, and only then did I understand the true pleasure of it. Now I will be able to share that experience, even to people who don't have access to a folk session near by - hopefully inspiring them to set one up!
