The Excitement of the Outcome

I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but the outcome is so clear in my mind

A way to explore tradition, folk, song, tunes, in a cosy game environment where the magic of folk is really highlighted.

Beyond the prototype, Folk Collector will offer a model for engaging new audiences with folk music and tradition - especially people without access to local sessions, archives, or music education.

I love folk music, but the UK folk festival scene is not where I find the magic. There are some wonderful gems, but the white marquees, the rows of chairs, the monoculture, that's not the magic that got me into folk music. It was being sat by the fire, in a tiny corner of a (not folk) festival site, or round the table in a cozy pub, or the moshing crowds at a bonfire night at Purple Patch Organic Farm where the crowd fell into the speakers and shut down the gig.

I can't wait to see a game version of traditional folk art techniques, a playable woodcut, an immersive folk session, trad guitar hero.
